43 Participating Local Design Companies Make a Remarkable Debut,
Witnessing a New Milestone in the Hong Kong’s Creative Industries 

HONG KONG, April 28, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Organized by the Innovative Entrepreneur Association (IEA) and sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (“CCIDA”), the 6th Design Licensing and Business (DLAB) Support Scheme will set up the DLAB Hong Kong Pavilion at the Hong Kong International Licensing Show (HKILS) 2025. A launching ceremony was held today at the DLAB Hong Kong Pavilion to showcase 43 selected local design companies with their unique licensed design works to promote their business and products to exhibitors and buyers from around the world.

Mr. LAU Chun, Raistlin, JP, Under Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region was presented as the Guest of Honour of the Launching Ceremony, together with other officiating guests were Ms. Cherrie CHONG, President of IEA and Mr. TSANG Chiu Hok, Victor, JP, Commissioner for Cultural and Creative Industries of the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency. After the launching ceremony, all guests proceeded to a guided tour to visit the ‘DLAB Hong Kong Pavilion’ where the 43 selected design companies are there to introduce their works and creative concepts to the attending guests, exploring the unlimited possibilities of creativity and business opportunities.

Mr. LAU Chun, Raistlin, JP, Under Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism of the HKSAR, expressed his gratitude to IEA for organising the 6th DLAB, and wished great success to all participating companies. He looked forward to collaborating with all of them to further promote the prosperity and development of Hong Kong’s cultural and creative industries, enabling local designs to shine on the international stage.

Ms. Cherrie CHONG, the President of IEA said, “DLAB is not just a platform for design companies to showcase their work but also a springboard for stepping into the international market. We are delighted to know that the 43 selected design companies received funding to participate in the Greater Bay Area delegation trip/ study mission held on February 20 to 21, successfully strengthening connections and exchanges with mainland enterprises, aims to provide possible national development opportunities, so that our local emerging designers or less experienced IP owners can learn and expand their network outside of Hong Kong and showcase the charm of Hong Kong’s local designs. Moving forward, we will continue to serve as a bridge for the industry, further explore various ways to help selected design companies growing their businesses by fostering more networking opportunities with potential clients and partners locally and globally and enhance the international competitiveness of Hong Kong’s designs.

Each selected design company would also be granted a discounted fee of HK$4,000 (first-time participants of DLAB) or HK$6,000 (previous participants of DLAB) to join the exhibition at the Hong Kong Pavilion at the Hong Kong International Licensing Show 2025 from 28 to 30 April. At a low cost, they can reach out to buyers and business partners from around the world, promoting their designs and enhancing their brand exposure.
