SEOUL, South Korea, June 10, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — SurplusGLOBAL, a leading provider specializing in legacy semiconductor equipment and parts, has fired the starting signal for its platform transformation. On June 2, the company officially announced the beta launch of its dedicated semiconductor equipment and parts platform, SemiMarket (www.SemiMarket.com).
SurplusGLOBAL to Launch Beta of Semiconductor Equipment and Parts Platform ‘SemiMarket (www.SemiMarket.com)’ on June 2, with Grand Opening Planned for December
With the launch of SemiMarket, the marketplace functionality previously offered on www.SurplusGLOBAL.com will be discontinued. Moving forward, all product searches and purchases will be integrated and provided through www.SemiMarket.com, while www.SurplusGLOBAL.com will operate solely as a corporate information and company introduction site.
SemiMarket is an AI-driven platform developed based on SurplusGLOBAL’s extensive experience over the past 25 years, including the supply of over 60,000 equipment, a network of over 150,000 global customers, and a database containing hundreds of thousands of parts. By utilizing AI recommendation system, the platform offers efficient matching between buyers and sellers, shifting from the existing search-centered system to a real transaction–focused integrated trading environment.
Notably, the beta launch on June 2 will operate as a proprietary store where SurplusGLOBAL acts as the seller. During this period, SurplusGLOBAL will commercialize client products and sell them on their behalf under a remarketing-based operational model.
The most anticipated milestone for SurplusGLOBAL is the grand opening in December 2025. At that point, SemiMarket will transition into a seller-driven open market platform. Sellers will be able to directly join the platform, register items, and engage in direct transactions with global buyers. This will allow each seller to operate an independent brand store, establishing a self-directed sales structure targeting the global market.
The company is also strengthening its offline physical transaction infrastructure. In addition to its online platform, SurplusGLOBAL is currently piloting the SemiMarket Parts Mall located at its headquarters in Yongin-si, South Korea. The company completed Cluster Building A in 2021 and is now constructing Building B, a project totaling KRW 50 billion (USD 36.5 million). Building B will span approximately 39,600 square meters and is scheduled for completion in May 2026, with around 26,400 square meters dedicated to the Parts Mall. Once completed, the facility will offer one-stop fulfillment services—including parts storage, exhibition, harvesting, refurbishing, packaging, and logistics—creating a fully integrated online-to-offline transaction ecosystem.
Bruce Kim, CEO of SurplusGLOBAL, emphasized, “SemiMarket is the realization of the platform business we have dreamed of for the past 25 years,” adding, “With our AI-based trading system, we aim to revolutionize the extremely inefficient legacy semiconductor parts market and build a collaborative ecosystem with global customers and partners.”
